BProc, LLB and LLM (Comparative Law, Magna Cum Laude, University of Bonn) and is an attorney and notary public of the High Court.

Ms Shabangu is a seasoned board member with over two decades of experience in governance structures, facilitating organisational programmes and creating policies while heading boards of various trusts and board committees of companies.

She currently serves on the board of Astral Foods Limited and is a member of the Audit & Risk and ESG Committees. She previously chaired the Remuneration Committee and now chairs the Social & Ethics Committee. In her various roles, she has facilitated decision-making and provided strategic oversight in the areas of remuneration, workplace ethics, audit and risk, diversity/inclusion and ESG.
